I’ve driven a rental with start/stop. Not a fan. I turned it off.

I too had this on a rental and didn’t think to turn it off. Then I was entering an underground garage and slowed to a stop on the ramp and it shut off. I think it had some reserve power brakes but it was very unexpected.

Can you turn the headlights on? I rented this wonder machine and for some reason I could never get the headlamps to turn on. I thought I was getting a Clio, but when I showed up at the rental park, this was it. The boot was so small too. It just barely took our suitcases and then the package tray wouldn’t go all the way down. Supposedly it was a John Cooper Works edition, but it didn’t seem all that sporty.

That sounds “fun”...

My issue was based more on a deep ingrained panic response to a vehicle suddenly turning off on me. Too many old vehicles in my life that I’m always just waiting for the “next thing” to happen. So a rental on the other side of the country turning off on me at a stop sign was an unwelcome sensation.
